African Women on Boards (AWB) is a close-knit network of African women in key leadership positions who aspire to move to the next level of achievements in their career. Specifically, this group seeks to increase representation of African women on corporate and public sector boards especially on the African continent. This network also seeks to increase their visibility and image as thought leaders in their respective fields.

Our Rationale

In recent years, more awareness has been created globally on the importance of increasing women representation of boards of businesses both legislatively and otherwise. Women are seen as being key to economic development and progress, and yet barely present in many of the boardrooms of the world’s largest companies.
